Project Manager

Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization, whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when an oil spill occurs. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public.

WCMRC is recruiting for a Project Manager to join the Corporate Projects team, located at our corporate office in Burnaby, B.C.  This is a one-year contract position, with potential for renewal based on continuing business needs.

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Projects, the Project Manager will be responsible for the day to day management and execution of various assigned projects and corporate initiatives. Working collaboratively within the Corporate Projects organization and with various internal stakeholders, this position will be also responsible to provide project status reporting to the Director, Corporate Projects and other project sponsors, while ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle.

To be successful in this role you will bring five to eight years of progressive experience in project management.  Completion of a recognized project management designation, such as PMP, is preferred.  You will be a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, and be able to deal with all levels of employees and management in a manner that elicits cooperation and support. In addition, excellent problem solving and analytical skills, are a must have.
