Response Readiness Manager

Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization, whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when an oil spill occurs. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public.

We are seeking a Full Time Response Readiness Manager to join our Response Readiness team, located at our corporate office in Burnaby, B.C. 

The Response Readiness Manager will be responsible for working with Operations to ensure equipment is commissioned and made response ready once delivered to the base. This position will also examine new response Incident Command management systems to determine compatibility and fit within the organization and is responsible for developing and executing the implementation of such systems.  This role will also work with each of the Section Chiefs to determine an appropriate level of support from internal and external resources to meet the personnel requirements in the field and Incident Command Post.

To be successful in this role you will bring a minimum of five to eight years of management experience relevant to Response Readiness and completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You will need to be a collaborative team player, able to coordinate and interact with multiple people and projects, and skilled at managing changing and shifting priorities. In addition, strong computer skills with ability to effectively utilize MS Office applications and other operational software applications.
