Full Time Junior Project Manager

Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization, whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when an oil spill occurs. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public.

WCMRC is currently recruiting for a Full Time Junior Project Manager to join our Corporate Projects team, located at our corporate office in Burnaby, B.C. 

Responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle including developing plans, assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion.  Additional responsibilities include following established project management methods, procedures and quality objectives, establish metrics for assessing progress and conduct post-project evaluations.  Also balancing workload, provide technical and analytical guidance and work direction to project teams, review project efforts, and mitigate roadblocks that may inhibit project success.

To be successful in this role you will have a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field and bring a minimum of five years of project experience.  Completion of a recognized project management designation, such as PMP, is preferred. You will need to be proficient with Primavera P6 project scheduling software. You will also need to be a collaborative team player, able to coordinate and interact with multiple people and projects, and skilled at managing changing and shifting priorities.  Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are a must have.
