Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Logistics or equivalent related field

CERTIFICATION/TECHNICAL:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • Develops voyage estimates for customer indications in developing contracts and spot fixtures to optimize financial returns as well as fill open capacity. When business is secured work with Legal Department in Montreal to develop contract language to used and negotiate with customer to complete 

  • Maintains daily contact and fosters long term relationships with customer representatives, ensuring customers’ needs are understood and being met

  • Cultivates new business opportunities through networking with current or future customers either for future COA business or fixing spot cargoes when required.

  • Ensure West Coast contracts are maintained and up to date to ensure accurate invoicing. Annually assist in calculating annual rate escalations

  • Canvas market for new business projects where CSL can get involved in the early phase of development. Continuously look for new business opportunities through customer contacts and brokers to expand the business portfolio

  • Maintains ongoing dialogue with CSLI Ship operators in Middleton, MA to understand vessel scheduling to field possible customer questions and ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Fosters relationships with Pilots, vessel agencies, and other vendors.

  • Will work closely together with Middleton office staff to offer input on topics as requested to ensure West Coast requirements are covered. May be called upon to provide support to other CSL offices as opportunities or projects develop

  • Keeps up with environmental trends and legislative changes that could affect CSL or its customers’ activities on the West Coast.

  • Ensures customer performance data is accurate and uses available tool to monitor adherence to annual volume commitment. Will work closely with Middleton to continue to use standard reports being available and make recommendation for changes where warranted

  • Together with Director work to ensure office is maintained to CSL standards and presentable for visits

  • Travel as required to meet customers, CSL colleagues and vessel visit to grow and expand contact network as well as understanding of the business
