Office & Events Assistant (generalist)

The Chamber of Shipping is currently seeking an experienced Office Assistant based in Vancouver. This is a part-time position working weekdays and the occasional evenings for events.

About the Chamber
We are a small, collaborative team that supports several marine-related not-for-profit associations and their respective Board of Directors. Every day is different, with new priorities popping up and the team coming together to support each other and make sure the job always gets done.

About the role
The role will include assisting with the management of events for the various associations and updating websites. The role is to support the administrative tasks for all of associations as directed by the Office Manager, these include:
• Event administration and coordination
• Basic bookkeeping
• Managing records and coordinating the delivery of information on a timely basis
• Scheduling meetings and setting up meeting space
• Preparing minutes of meetings and following up on action items
• Occasional reception duties

What you bring
• Ability to multi-task and manage time in a fast pace environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Client or customer service experience
• Intuitively know when to refer and when to take initiative
• Strong attention to detail
• Previous administration experience preferred
• Microsoft Office knowledge required
• WordPress experience preferred
